  1. Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin unveiled the mascot and the logo named ‘Thambi’ for FIDE Chess Olympiad in Chennai on 10 June, 2022. ‘Thambi’ in Tamil means younger brother.
  2. Manish Narwal and Singhraj Adhana won silver medals at the Mixed Team 50m Pistol SH1 event in the ongoing Chateauroux Para-Shooting World Cup on 9 June, 2022 in France.
  3. The Union Government has launched the Rashtriya Puruskar Portal for inviting nominations for various awards of the various Ministries, Departments and agencies.
  4. PM Modi on 10 June, 2022 inaugurated the headquarters of the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) at Bopal in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
  5. Malaysia on 10 June, 2022 announced that it has agreed to abolish the mandatory death penalty. The death penalty will be replaced by ‘alternative punishments’ at the discretion of the courts.
  6. The WHO has awarded the Resource Centre for Tobacco Control (e-RCTC) of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh with the Regional Director Special Recognition Award.
  7. Russia and China on 10 June 2022 unveiled the first-ever road bridge between the two countries. The kilometre-long bridge over the Amur river links the Russian city of Blagoveshchensk with Heihe in northern China.
  8.  N J Ojha has been appointed as ombudsman for a two year term under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
  9.  Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched YSR Yantra Seva Scheme and flagged off the distribution of tractors and combine harvesters at Chuttugunta Centre in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.
  10.  Agriculture Minister, Narendra Singh Tomar has launched the country’s first homegrown COVID-19 vaccine ‘Anocovax’ for animals, developed by Haryana-based ICAR-National Research Centre on Equines (NRC).
  11.  China has released a new geological map of the moon, which it says is the most detailed to date, registering even finer details of the lunar surface than mapped by the US in 2020.
  12.  UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has appointed Amandeep Singh Gill as his envoy on technology to coordinate programmes for international digital cooperation.
